Fwd: [Life Hack #47] Nobody’s got it all figured out...

It's always good to remember this very salient point: Nobody's got life or biz entirely "figured out".

And yet, we often seem to crave to find — or be — the type of person who appears to have done it.

It's a major kink in our human operating system (which comes with no manual, by the way)…

... that allows us to believe (for brief periods) that we got this existence thang nailed.

Then reality intrudes (and yes, the universe does have a very twisted sense of humor)…

... and you realize that what you thought was competence…

... was really just the product of hiding from your consciousness all the uncomfortable crap you hate dealing with.

We're all juggling a whacky mess of emotional, intellectual, physical and metaphysical balls every moment we breathe…

... and it's worth remembering…

… that nobody's got it all figured out. We all drop balls, all the time.

It's baked into life.

If you crave leadership, look for reluctant leaders — those few who simply make themselves available.

The loud-mouthed ones elbowing their way onto your radar, bragging up a storm, must be viewed with cautious alarm. Avoid them at all costs.

The mentors you want are the dudes or dudettes who've been around the block a few times, know the game well, and have succeeded at it. Not with smoke and mirrors, but with reputation and hard work and a commitment to doing the right thing at all times. (Rare.)

Life would be easier if everyone was who they insist they are.

Don't buy into that myth. You'll get burned time and time again.

Just a word to the wise.

Hope you're enjoying the first days of real summer...

Stay frosty,

John

P.S. For a great (and super cheap) (couple of bucks) digital summer read...

… try this.

It'll entertain you (we're talking about LOL moments of sheer joy), boost your hipness quotient significantly, and lay out the most important rules of the game (if you want to win big).

You can read it in an evening. And start putting it to work the next morning...
