Hi Steve,

Benjamin Franklin once said "little stroke fell great oaks," meaning, gradual progress over time can yield to big results.

Telling people they need to become "a better leader" or that "they need to adapt and evolve," can sound quite daunting.

Improving as a leader needs to be done in a practical and scalable way, otherwise, what's the point of telling someone to improve if they can't realistically do it?

My ask of you is to commit to improving by 1% a day. If you can improve by 1% a day then by the end of the year you will be a 37x better leader than you are now.

What does 1% a day look like?

Here are 10 actual examples of what leaders have shared with me based on the content in my book:

  1. Drinking 1 liter of water a day and eating healthy.
  2. Listening to a podcast about a new topic.
  3. Taking a breath and counting to 10 before responding to a stressful message.
  4. Saying "thank you" to people more often.
  5. Asking "is there a better way to do this?" before starting a project.
  6. Doing walking meetings.
  7. Having coffee with a new co-worker each week.
  8. Asking for feedback from team members to practice self-awareness.
  9. Putting away technology and really focusing on listening when engaging with others.
  10. Visualizing similar situations and circumstances that someone else experienced in order to practice empathy.

You get the idea... These are small things you can do on a regular basis that will have a dramatic impact on who you are as a leader and as a human being.

Becoming a better version of yourself doesn't have to be scary, daunting, or time consuming, it just requires commitment to change and a little bit of effort.

So what are you willing to commit to doing to improve by 1% a day?

To help you, I just launched something called The Leadership Reset, which is as a series of 31 videos which are all around 5 mins in length. In each video I will share a hack or strategy that leaders shared with me.

Every day a new video will be sent to your inbox and will be available to you via the course platform where you can also interact with me directly.

I hope you decide to take advantage of this. What better way is there to learn and grow as a leader than by learning from other successful leaders who have guided successful companies around the world.
