There are 3 main pieces of gear you'll need:
1) The Rodecaster Pro
Think of the Rodecaster Pro as your mixing board. Everything runs through it and you can record directly on it. To do so, make sure you pick up a microSD card.
2) A good sounding microphone and headphones
I use the Heil PR-40. You don't need a mic this fancy. An Audio-Technica or Blue will do just fine. That said, it won't work with a USB input. You'll need to make sure your microphone has a XLR connection to connect properly to the Rodecaster. As for headphones, ear buds will do for now unless you want to grab something nicer.
3) A TRRS cable (male to male) and an iPhone dongle
Don't skimp here. Spend a bit more and get good quality accessories. It WILL make a difference.
Again, the list of specific gear I use can be found HERE.
With the gear in hand, what's next?
